FESTIVAL OF FINE SLOVENIAN WINES WITH A TOUCH OF GASTRONOMY, MAGICAL AMBIENCE, AND MUSIC

IN THE COOL SHADE OF THE MAGICAL VINAG CELLAR

Welcome to the world of fine wine, entertainment, and gastronomy! The second UNDERGROUND Wine Festival is just around the corner, once again taking place in the magnificent Vinag Wine Cellar – a vast underground complex covering 15,000 m², with 2.1 km of tunnels built in 1847.

The first edition was met with great enthusiasm, when on August 24th, 2024, we brought together almost 800 visitors, 24 top winemakers, and a rich accompanying program of DJs, live performances, and wine-inspired gastronomy in the magical setting of Vinag’s illuminated cellars. Guests were treated to an unforgettable atmosphere with live saxophone music, an acrobatic dancer, and the presence of the Maribor Wine Queen. The festival also included the Truhome charity campaign with “Anina Zvezdica” and a professional wine evaluation, where wines from Doppler, Zlati Grič, Pri Breznikovih, and Bračko received top awards.

This year promises to be even bigger, more exciting, and more spectacular! More than 30 exceptional winemakers will delight you throughout the grand cellar spaces, with wine and gastronomy spread across the most attractive areas of the underground complex. The cellars and tunnels will be transformed with visual and light installations, creating an unforgettable wine promenade. Throughout the day, DJ Pulse Agency, joined by live performers (drummer, violinist), will set the mood, accompanied by additional live music and dance performances. From 8:00 PM onwards, the festivities continue with an afterparty and unforgettable socializing.

Special guests & attractions: Maribor rafters (“flosarji”), Malečniški brači, the Stara trta team, Fontana vin, plus artisan showcases from Roj Pottery (handmade clay creations), DekoFunArt (live painting on canvas), Čili napoj (chili products), and Lieras Calligraphy (engraving on wine glasses).
